Welcome to Wanderers of the Wild CIC! Nature-based, Regenerative Education for home-educating and flexi-schooling families in Somerset, Devon, and Dorset.

We create hands-on learning experiences where children can explore, question, make, grow, experiment and discover how they fit into the living world around them.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

A Different Way to Learn

We believe education should help children understand not only how the world works, but how they can take part in it. We build around permaculture values and are community-focused.

Our learning is rooted in nature, practical experience and curiosity. Children might grow food, investigate wildlife, follow a scientific question, build something, make art, explore a local landscape or learn a skill they can use in everyday life.

There is no separation of “school subjects” and the real world.

Learning is everywhere.

What’s Happening Now

Our current programme brings children and families together for hands-on, nature-inspired learning experiences throughout the year. Each session explores a different theme through experiments, investigations, discussions and practical activities.

Discovery Days

For learners between 4-11 and their parents who enjoy a nature-based, cross-curricular and topic-based approach to learning. With opportunities to build skills, knowledge and friendships.

There are two Discovery Days per month at:

Sidmouth Scout Centre - Monday AM

Ashill Village Hall, Ilminster - Thursday AM
